‘Challenges for Young Women in UK Politics: What factors are deterring young women from entering politics in the United Kingdom?‘
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2017, the International Press Foundation (IPF) published a report, ‘The Challenges for Young Women in UK Politics’, that reveals some of the struggles young women in our country face when attempting to break into a political career.
The majority of people surveyed for this research were those aged 18 to 30, which is the IPF’s core target audience. In addition, 85% of respondents were female, allowing the research to explore the issue primarily from the perspective of young women in the UK.
