Joe graduated from Gothenburg University in Sweden with an MSc in Global Studies in 2015. His thesis focused on the potential for participatory football to be used as a tool for peace building. During his second year he was the editor of the Development in Action blog, aiming to engage young people as global citizens, as well as spending 3 months working for Fahamu in Dakar, supporting social change in Western Africa. Joe is currently on a year long trip to Central and South America, improving his Spanish and learning about the different (and frequently untold) politics and histories of the region.
