Makoi Popioco is currently one of the 2015 Hurford Youth Fellows of the National Endowment for Democracy in Washington, D.C. He is a Filipino activist and journalist who has extensive experience in documenting disasters in the Philippines. He worked as producer for Peabody-winner and Int’l Emmy-nominated flagship TV newscast of GMA Network Inc. in the Philippines.
