Maria Gonçalves

Maria Gonçalves is currently a London-based digital journalist for the Daily Express. She graduated with a Journalism BA degree from Kingston University, whilst being the News Editor of the award-winning River Newspaper. She has previously worked as an intern at the foreign desk for The Sunday Times. Maria has published papers about the war in Yemen and how the mainstream Western coverage of Yemen has affected the way we perceive the conflict. Maria holds a strong interest in international affairs, environmental issues and travel journalism. Being fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, Maria plans on moving to South America where she will cover events from some of the most intricate and economically-expanding regions in the World.
